Spring 2008 Jimmy Fund Benefit Studio Day - Tuesday, March 18,
2008
Twice a year I set up a studio in my home office in Milton and
invite clients to schedule a studio photo session to benefit the
Jimmy Fund. During these sessions I shoot on a white backdrop with
limited props, and focus on capturing expressions.
Here's my disclaimer -- I only do this a couple of times a year,
because I find that the studio offers me less creativity than in-home
sessions (the light is always the same in the studio). I also don't
think studio photos can compare to in-home photos when it comes
to capturing children in their most natural moments.
So why do it?
I think the studio offers an opportunity to capture expressions
that we aren't able to capture anywhere else. The twinkle in the
eye that I get with these lights really can't be beat. And it sure
beats Sears or Walmart, trust me.
Details
Appointments are on the half hour, but I only shoot for about 20
minutes, because no baby wants to spend a long time in a studio.
This season I'm auctioning off the 14 appointments for 3/18
on eBay, and as usual, 100% of the money raised goes to The Jimmy
Fund. The auctions will be held over ten days - from 2/27 through
3/8.
The starting bid will be $75, or if you prefer, you can guarantee
one of the appointments using "Buy It Now" on eBay for
$250.
This way we both feel good about raising money, and you get a tax
deduction. This is a sitting fee, and prints are purchased after
the fact, on my website. (If you met me at the Janie & Jack
or Pottery Barn photoshoots, take note of my print
prices - they're less expensive than the in-store prices.)
Appointments available on:
March 18, 2008 from 9:00am - 4:30pm
Call me at 617-501-6078 or email
now if you have any questions about the auctions.

If you're looking for photos for Easter, or just to capture this
time in your child's life, March's Jimmy Fund Studio days are a
great option.
I shot all the photos you see on this page during my September
2006 Jimmy Fund Studio Day. See these photos in a slideshow.
