I shoot all my photos in digital color, and then usually I process them to black and white. I do this because I love black and white photographs, and I find that color can sometimes distract from the simple elegance of a child's image. But then there are some times when I have to leave a photo in color. For me, in order to enjoy a color photo, the color has to be there for a reason - the fall leaves, the bright eyes, the sparkely dress. When something like this pops out at me, the picture's personality becomes about that color, and not just about light and shape.
